


The Bears kicked off their outdoor campaign on Friday, March 24, hosting MSU's first home meet since April 22, 2016. The Bears recorded a second-place team finish in their second outdoor outing and only team scored meet of the season at the SBU Bearcat Invitational. The senior sprinter also found success in the 200-meter, finishing eighth with a time of 23.69 seconds. Two weeks ago, senior sprinter Calandra Henry turned out a stellar performance, not only ending the 100-meter dash with a first-place medal but eclipsing her former lifetime best by two one-hundredths of a second, racing a time of 11.50 seconds in a field of 89 competitors. Brooke Jenkins led MSU at the meet hosted by Arkansas, recording a second-place finish and season-best long jump performance (5.85 meters). MSU is coming off the John McDonnell Invitational which saw several Bears earn season and lifetime bests. The Bears will also have two relay teams in action in the 4x100 and 4x400-meter relay. MSU has 43 individual entries that will compete at the invitational. This will be the third-straight year the Bears will participate in the meet. Kansas University will serve as meet host of the annual invitational.

Missouri State will travel to Lawrence, Kan., Saturday to compete in the Rock Chalk Classic.
